Elijah Sylar is a Denver-based painter whose work explores the intersection of raw emotion and technical precision. Drawing inspiration from Pollock's gestural freedom and Dalí's surrealist vision, his large-scale abstract and surreal paintings capture the complexity of human experience through bold color, dynamic composition, and psychological depth.

In 2017, Elijah embarked on an ambitious project to paint all 50 states—a three-year cross-country journey that became as much about personal transformation as artistic documentation. During that time, he transitioned, creating these works privately under his true name while discovering himself across 47 states. The paintings from this journey represent both a geographic and personal odyssey—each piece capturing not just a place, but a moment of becoming.

Painting since childhood and exhibiting professionally for over 15 years, Elijah's seven-year background in behavioral health therapy working with nonverbal autistic children profoundly influences his approach to visual communication. That experience—understanding how imagery can convey what words cannot—fundamentally shaped how he approaches both art and technology.

Now completing a Computer Science degree and pursuing work in the tech field, Elijah builds AI systems and healthcare accessibility tools alongside his painting practice. His work includes Aurora, an autonomous AI artist that applies behavioral reinforcement principles to creative decision-making.
